Lummus’ CDHydro® technology achieves selective hydrogenation of diolefins to olefins in a catalytic distillation column and uses proprietary catalytic distillation structures. The CDHydro process has been applied to a wide range of hydrocarbons cuts, from C3, C4 and C5 to aromatic streams.
The unique catalytic distillation column combines reaction and fractionation in a single unit operation. The constant pressure boiling system assures precise temperature control in the catalyst zone. Low reaction temperature and pressure and isothermal operation enhance selectivity and minimize yield losses to paraffins.
