Polyethylene Production

Lummus Technology offers EXCENE™ technology to produce a complete range of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resins, including products for the following applications:

• Pressure pipe (including PE-100)
• Blow molding
• Film
• Injection molding
• Monofilament, cap and closure

Based on EL-CAT™ Ziegler-Natta catalyst.

EXCENE HDPE technology is using agitated slurry-phase reactors in series or in parallel, proving excellent process control and comonomer incorporation, high efficiency, and excellent product qualities. EXCENE technology can be integrated with other leading technologies from Lummus Technology, such as steam cracking, MTO lower olefins recovery and more, to extract synergies from a single licensor design capability.

In the Verdene™ HDPE configuration, the EXCENE HDPE process can produce at world-scale virtually 100% bio-based polyethylene, with greatly reduced (To zero or even net-negative) CO2 emissions by the sequestration of CO2 as carbon atoms in the polymer chain, to meet the demand for bio-based products.
