Hydrocracking technology plays a major role in meeting the need for cleaner-burning fuels, effective feedstocks for FCC and petrochemical operations, and high quality lubricating oils. ISOCRACKING®, offered by Chevron Lummus Global (CLG), a joint venture between Lummus Technology and Chevron U.S.A. Inc., is CLG’s hydrocracking technology with more than 65 new units licensed since 2000.
The ISOCRACKING process is often used in conjunction with residue hydrocracking—employing the LC-FINING™, LCMAX® and LC-SLURRY technologies—or with delayed coking. ISOCRACKING produces high quality jet and diesel fuels and heavy naphtha suited for catalytic reforming. Unconverted oil from ISOCRACKING is used as feed to FCC units, ISODEWAXING® units or to ethylene crackers. The ISOCRACKING process is very flexible and can selectively maximize naphtha, jet or diesel product.
